Kathy Grieser has been a nurse for 41 years at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She has been involved with vascular access in various forms throughout that time in the NICU, PICU, CICU, as a staff nurse, manager and educator. She is currently the Nurse Manager for the Vascular Access Team and has been a staff nurse on the team for the past 6 years, placing PICC lines, problem-solving all venous access devices, starting peripheral IVs, assessing and treating PIV infiltrations and helping to educate team members as well as nursing staff throughout the hospital on vascualr access. She has been placing PICC lines since 2005, starting with the congenital heart heart disease population.
