Catherine Miller has been a Registered Nurse for 24 years, and for most of that time has been a paediatric nurse. She is currently a paediatric medical imaging nurse, and enrolled in PhD studies around the topic of use of ultrasound guidance for difficult intravenous access for children. Her department provides support and training for management of children with difficult intravenous access, including ultrasound guided PIVC insertion, Implanted Venous Port, CVC and PICC insertion. In addition to being a paediatric nurse, she has been a university lecturer in nursing for 7 years, and also teaches paediatric nursing to rural and private hospital nurses. She is a member of the South Australia Chapter of the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research Group Australia and Medical Imaging Nurses Assocation Australia.
