Samantha Crandall works as the System Patient Safety Specialist for Sharp HealthCare. During her time in this position, she has focused on cause analysis activities and patient safety science. She helps guide teams to reliably identify system causes to serious patient safety events, and teaches leaders how to focus on system influencers as opposed to individual failures. She teaches Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) and High Reliability classes, and is currently working on her PhD from the University of San Diego. She also works as a Director at Large for the Association for Vascular Access.
