Paula Lamagna has been a RN at Boston Children's Hospital for 35 years, involved in vascular access for 20 years. She is the Education Coordinator for the Vascular Access Team. In addition to placing PICC Lines and problem solving complications related to catheters she has developed and oversees competency based orientation including Ultrasound Peripheral IV'S, ECG tip location, products related to neonatal and pediatric IV access, Infection Control prevention, and skin complications in complex patients with vascular access devices. A member of Pedisig, she worked on the survey for "Million Pokes" compaign, was an author on the Best Practice Guidelines in the Care and Maintenance of Pediatric Central Venous Catheters 2nd edition. She presented educational topics at local & national level for AVA and INS. She is an Education Consultant for TCX with PICC line placement and trouble shooting as well as Interrad Medical for education needs with securement devices.
