Pediatric Vascular Access Team
University of Maryland Medical Center
Tina Fellner has been a Pediatric ICU nurse for 10 years and has her CCRN certification. She has been a member of the Pediatric Vascular Access Team at the University of Maryland Medical Center for the past 5 years and became VA-BC this past December. As a member of her team, she also helps champion a CLABSI reduction initiative through patient safety lectures, bedside central line rounding, device care and maintenance education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary services to reduce CLABSI rates in the pediatric population. She and her fellow vascular access team member, Megan Hansen, submitted a poster that was selected for the Poster Theater Podium Presentation at the 2018 AVA Scientific Meeting. She presented the poster, “From Tall to Small, One Size Doesn’t Fit All. How to choose the best peripheral vascular access device in pediatrics” at last year's meeting during Poster Theater Grand Ronds.
