Vascular access has quickly become a recognized specialty due to its contribution to patient outcomes and satisfaction. This session will review the advancement of vascular access, ensuring that this specialty remains unified, unique and responsible. This will include a review of personal qualities and attributes covering credentialing, research and professional society engagements. Finally, I will share examples how every vascular access specialist must lead others through influential behavior, team models, best practice examples, mentorship and research.
