This session will look back on the origins of corporate purchasing of renewables and what’s coming next for sustainable corporations. Today, corporate purchasing makes up more than 50% of renewables procurement. Less than a decade ago, this number approximated zero. The increase is due to the tremendous value and impact that corporations can have when they purchase utility scale wind. The same can now be said for utility scale solar. But, what’s on the horizon? This talk will concern the potential for direct investment by sustainable corporations and where the next value and impact opportunity lies for these leading companies.
