Rehabilitation gaming has a strong evidence base and is now ready for prime-time. It is at least as effective as traditional therapy approaches and is an inexpensive way to deliver high-dose practice, even remotely. This symposium will briefly review the recent literature on rehabilitation gaming for motor recovery. Then, participants will be taught practical strategies for implementing it into inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Finally, stroke survivors will share their experiences with rehabilitation gaming to challenge common myths about who may accept and benefit from the technology.
