Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Director
Lindsay Walston, PT, DPT, is a board-certified neurologic and orthopaedic clinical specialist and the Neurologic Residency Director and National Education Coordinator at PT Solutions. She also continues to practice physical therapy in Roswell, GA. She received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Georgia College and State University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Emory University. Lindsay graduated from Emory University’s Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency in 2015 and PT Solutions’ Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency in 2017.
Dr. Walston has practiced in settings ranging from the neurologic intensive care unit to outpatient sports rehabilitation but has a special interest in concussion rehabilitation and movement disorders. She has developed and taught continuing education courses and conducted university lectures in the areas of concussion rehabilitation, outpatient neurologic rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, strength and conditioning principles in geriatrics, and plan of care development.
Dr. Walston also has a passion for the integration of both neurologic and orthopaedic principles into clinical practice. She presented a lecture at APTA's National Student Conclave entitled “Bridging the Gap Between Orthopaedic and Neurologic Rehabilitation.” She enjoys teaching others how to better leverage skills across specialties to enable them to become more well-rounded clinicians.
Her research focuses on knowledge translation in neurologic rehabilitation to enable improved access to care for those with a variety of neurological conditions in rural or underserved areas. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. She currently serves as a co-chair of the Neurological Focused Interest Network’s clinical mentorship program.
