Director of Education Training
Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine
For the past several years, I have served as Director of Education Training in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine where I have collaborated across disciplines to develop successful community engagement and service-learning initiatives within the surrounding communities. In this position, I also have teaching responsibilities across several courses including as: Preceptor in the Medical Humanities & Clinical Bioethics course, Facilitator in the Promotion & Maintenance of Health course, and Lecturer in the Behavioral Sciences course. To date, I am responsible for one of the largest service-learning components of a course across the university. Each year, I collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators in the medically underserved community of Pontiac to facilitate the Medical Student as Educator service-learning assignment within the Art & Practice of Medicine course. Now in its seventh year, this initiative has been well received within the schools and by medical students and has been presented on both within the state and regionally.
