Kelsey L. Grabeel, MSIS, AHIP is the Assistant Director at the Health Information Center and Preston Medical Library as well as an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at the Knoxville campus, located at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She received her Master’s in Information Science from the University of Tennessee and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mary Washington. Her research interests include: working with patients and their family members to find health information, patient education, health literacy, marketing, and collection development. Her main area of interest is editing patient education to make it easier to read for patients and family members. She attended a 3-day Advanced Health Communication for Writers course from the Institute for Healthcare Advancement learning more on how to write easy to read patient education.
