Viviana Fimbres is a Master of Library and Information Science student at the University of Arizona. Her graduate assistantships have provided experience in the public library and in the health science library. Viviana is a former high school math teacher and her skills as an educator were easily transferred to the field of librarianship. As a graduate assistant in the Pima County Public Library she organized and conducted programs for school aged children. At the University of Arizona Health Sciences Library, she participated in the opening of virtual reality studios, collaborate in a variety of research projects, and conducted consultations with college students.
Viviana Fimbres is passionate about helping others and guiding them to success. Her native language is Spanish, and she enjoys using it as often as possible in her profession. As a bilingual educator she loved to see how English language learners improved in all areas with the appropriate support. She enjoys removing barriers and reducing anxiety when people are learning something new. She believes that when people seek information, they also seek knowledge. Therefore, teachable moments can be easily found when people require new information.
