Information & Education Librarian
Newark, New Jersey
My name is Mina Ghajar and I am currently working as an Information & Education Librarian at Rutgers University, the George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences. I have more than 24 years of experience working at different academic and special libraries. Before joining Rutgers, I served as Associate Director for the College of Saint Elizabeth Mahoney Library. Prior to that, I managed the library at the Center for State Health Policy at the Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research where I worked closely with research and policy analysts on a variety of healthcare policy and scientific issues. While at the center, I contributed to the research involved in developing the New Jersey Obesity Prevention Action Plan and also published an issue brief, “Perspectives on Urban Health Care: Patients with Chronic Medical or Mental Health Conditions”. Earlier in my career, I held many research and managerial positions at various corporations such as Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore) and CommVault Systems. I am a member of the Medical Library Association and the Health Sciences Library Association of New Jersey. I have earned both my B.A.s as well as my MLS degree from Rutgers University.
