Margaret (Peg) Burnette is Associate Professor and Medical and Biomedicine Librarian at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Peg is actively engaged in with the creation of the fledgeling Carle Illinois College of Medicine of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as well as serving the health sciences campus community at large. Peg’s own research is grounded in the convergence of Medical Eductation, Knowledge Management, and Library and Information Science (LIS) with an emphasis on the concept of the expert and the role of tacit knowledge in expertise, and tacit knowledge transfer and transformation. Prior to joining the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Peg was at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine-Peoria where she built expertise in the areas of biomedical informatics, evidence-based practice, knowledge management, health literacy, and curriculum integrated instruction.
