Marianne Burke PhD, MA, AHIP, is Associate Professor of Libraries, Emerita and former Director of Dana Medical Library, University of Vermont (UVM), a position she held from 2001 until she retired from that position in 2018. She received her PhD in Clinical and Translational Science from the University of Vermont in 2019. Her recent JMLA publication (April 2019) reported the effect of a clinical evidence technology on skin disease outcomes in primary care based on a cluster-randomized controlled trial she conducted. She has won NLM and NN/LM grant funds for community health information outreach projects and has published a survey of knowledge based information resources in Vermont hospitals. She has collaborated with primary care providers to implement information prescriptions at clinical sites. At UVM, she participated in teaching and advising in the medical curriculum She has been active in governance roles at UVM, as well as with regional library groups, MLA, and AAHSL. Marianne served as a mentor in in the 2015 NLM/AAHSL Leadership Fellows Program. In addition to the PhD, she holds the BA in Anthropology from California State University and an MA in Library Management from the University of Denver, .
