Marie Beckermann, MLIS, is an Assistant Medical Librarian (Clinical Information Specialist) for Kaiser Permanente.
Marie Beckermann started working in the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Library in 2014 after almost four years working in Graduate Medical Education. Since then she has supported a number of local hospital and interregional committees, spent 18 months as the Southern California regional librarian co-chair, and assisted with tech issues as one of the Southern California SuperUsers for virtual reference services. In addition to running the day-to-day matters of the physical library space, Marie takes great pleasure in supporting the information needs of the various physicians, staff, and members at her medical center as well as the region as a whole. Marie holds a BA in English from UCLA, a master’s degree in English Literature from C.S.U. Dominguez Hills, and an MLIS from San Jose State University, where she was inducted into the Beta Phi Mu International Library & Information Science Honor Society. She is also a wife, mom, dog-lover, and self-proclaimed book nerd and Disney geek.
