Dr. Katharina Lichtner is Managing Director of the Family Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation (FLRF), a global philanthropy dedicated to advancing breastfeeding and breastmilk.
Dr. Lichtner trained in biochemistry and molecular biology and holds a PhD in immunology. She launched her career with McKinsey & Company, then moved into successful entrepreneurship in co-founding Capital Dynamics, a global private equity asset manager, in 1999. After co-leading Capital Dynamics both strategically and operationally for nearly 15 years, Dr. Lichtner fused her rich expertise in science, business-building, investing and leadership to guide FLRF in its objective to improve breastfeeding and consequently, mother and child health worldwide.
Under her direction, FLRF has expanded its network of partners to generate the basic and translational research that answers knowledge gaps and practical needs with science-backed, publicly available sustainable resources that empower women, families, healthcare providers and communities to achieve their breastfeeding goals.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lichtner has edited and co-authored several books, plus written numerous articles on private equity, clean energy and business creation. She speaks at global investing and health conferences and has served on various Boards of Directors, most currently the Swiss Technology Fund Guarantees Committee.
