Kalpana Beesabathuni, MBA, MS, Global Lead – Technology & Entrepreneurship, Sight and Life
Kalpana has 15 years of experience in advancing innovations in food systems in Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. Kalpana is the architect of the “Elevator Pitch Contest” focused on nurturing 100 young entrepreneurs to address malnutrition in the Global South. She also leads market shaping activities and business models in multiple micronutrient supplementation, smallholder poultry and foritifed foods to make nutritious foods accessible, affordable and desirable to populations at the base of the pyramid. Before Sight and Life, Kalpana held positions in R&D, strategy and innovation at Nestle, DSM and PATH in USA and India. Kalpana received an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Master’s degree in Agricultural & Biological Engineering from University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural & Food Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology.
