Deanna Olney is a Senior Research Fellow in IFPRI’s Poverty, Health, and Nutrition Division. She also serves as a theme leader for Nutrition-Sensitive Programs at IFPRI and a Flagship Leader within the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health led by IFPRI. She has led several comprehensive evaluations of nutrition-sensitive programs in Asia, Africa and Central America to examine what impacts multisectoral, nutrition-sensitive programs have on maternal and child health, nutrition and well-being outcomes, how impacts are achieved and, in some cases, at what cost. In addition, Deanna has worked closely with several organizations such as Helen Keller International and the World Food Program to help them redesign their programs to increase nutrition impacts across the lifecycle. Deanna has a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biology from the University of California Davis with a designated emphasis in International Nutrition.
