CEO and Public Health Nutritionist
Kavle Consulting LLC
Dr. Justine A. Kavle is known for her strategic and forward-thinking approach to designing, building and implementing country programs to strengthen the delivery of integrated nutrition-health interventions as part of quality community and facility-based programming on USAID funded global health projects, including Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) and Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program (MCHIP), for the past 15+ years. As Nutrition Team Lead for MCSP, Dr. Kavle worked with country governments and partners to build the capacity of teams in 12 low and middle-income countries, developed programmatic and social behavior change approaches and tools and led implementation science studies on the process (i.e. successes and challenges) and scale-up of nutrition-health program implementation. In partnership with USAID and Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP), she pioneered a journal supplement compendium featuring 14 country experiences on “how to” strengthen nutrition within health systems, including the areas of maternal, newborn and child health, immunization and family planning. Recognizing the need for cultivating creative and practical solutions to equip the next generation of public health practitioners and organizations, Kavle Consulting LLC was founded in October 2019. Dr. Kavle is also active in the academic community, as a lecturer at the George Washington University, Milken School of Public Health with joint appointments in Global Health and Prevention and Community Health. Dr. Kavle holds a Ph.D. in Human Nutrition and a Master’s in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health.
