Nutrition Advisor
USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance
Maggie Holmesheoran is an international nutrition and food security expert. Currently a Nutrition Advisor in USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, she supports a global portfolio of nutrition activities in protracted emergencies and fragile contexts including Yemen, Syria, Nigeria, Cameroon, Nepal, Myanmar and Laos. Before working for USAID, Maggie worked for Catholic Relief Services in Jordan and Nigeria, leading programming that integrated nutrition actions into food security, education, and health programming. Maggie has also conducted nutrition field research in Yemen. She has a bachelor's degree in International Relations from George Fox University, an MA in Anthropology from the University of Hyderabad (India), and an MS in Nutrition and MPH in Global Health from Tufts University. While studying at Tufts, Maggie also worked for the USAID Nutrition Innovation Lab as a Research Assistant, and for the USAID Food Aid Quality Review as a GIS Analyst. Mom to one toddler, Maggie also has significant practical experience in maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, and complementary feeding of small children.
