Track: Designing an enabling environment for micronutrients
This session will address policies, incentives, enablers, and barriers (including market failures) to support investment and production of health foods (ethically).What has worked and can be scaled up ? Entrepreneurs will talk about their experience in investing in high quality foods with a focus on meeting the needs of young children and women of reproductive age. They will share their insights on how they are dealing with supply and demand challenges and what, from their perspective, constitutes an “enabling environment” for SMEs. Their insights and experiences will be complemented with the points of view from policy makers, scientists and representatives from organizations involved in the promotion of high-quality foods through the engagement of private sector.
