This session aims to discuss challenges and lessons learned on how to use locally available survey and routine data from multiple sectors to establish an evidence-informed nutrition policy dialogue in countries, leading to better decisions on nutrition policies, programmes and investments. National Information Platforms for Nutrition (NIPN) have been embedded as part of the exsiting national multisectoral nutrition systems in eight countries. Nutrition policy experts started working closely with data owners and analysts to answer policy relevant and actionable questions. This session will be a four-presentation session on experience sharing from countries on the topic. 2 country representatives oif the NIPN initiative: Niger and Guatemala, one representative from 2FAS (Food Fortification Advisory Service) and one country representative from DataDent in Nigeria (To be confirmed). The presentations will focus on country experience, highliter challenges and opportunities in establishing an active nutrition policy dialogue between data owners and decision makers of multiple actors and how data analysis can serve a decision making purpose (possible challenges both related to the need of policy makers versus the challenges faced by data owners: data quality issues and access to multisectoral data and gaps in nutrition as example of bottleneck).
